The National Guard Association of Rhode Island announced that through the efforts of the 2009 Rhode Island National Guard Open House Air Show held here in June they have donated $100,000.00 to the Hasbro Children's Hospital and $42,000 to other local charities. This brings the total donations over the past 19 years to 1.3 million dollars to the Hasbro Children's Hospital and $300,000 to the smaller local charities! It is clear by the reactions of the recipients that no amount goes unappreciated. Each of these organizations stated that if it weren't for the hard work put into the show every year by the Soldiers and Airmen of the Rhode Island National Guard and various volunteer groups to host the RINGĀ Open House Air Show they wouldn't receive these generous donations to help fund their efforts for the community and extend a sincere "thank you" to all of those involved. 2010 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Rhode Island National Guard Open House Air Show and will be headlined by the USAF Thunderbirds. The show will take place at Quonset Air National Guard Base on 26 & 27 June 2010.
