Last Wednesday players and staff members from the Providence Bruins Hockey Team and staff members from the Boston Bruins Hockey Team stopped into Quonset Air National Guard Base to visit members of the Rhode Island National Guard to show their appreciation for the selfless service of the Airmen and Soldiers of the RING. This is the second time the Providence Bruins have visited Quonset and we were thrilled to have them back.

The Bruins and staff members were treated to displays from several units on base to include, 143d Security Forces Squadron, 143d Force Support Squadron, 143d Civil Engineering Squadron - Emergency Management and Fire Department, 143d Maintenance Group and 143d Operations Group. The visit lasted three hours during which the players had the opportunity to see what the men and women of the 143d do every day and also had a chance to handle some of the equipment we use to get our job done. The players also signed autographs and got a chance to meet with the members of the RING who came to the event. To show their appreciation to the 143d Airlift Wing for hosting them and to the RING as a whole, the players donated two game jerseys autographed by each player in attendance to the Wing. The jerseys will be framed and displayed at Quonset.
