On 25 July 2013, as part of a joint training exercise, members of the 143rd Airborne Infantry Company and the 56th Troop Command, Rhode Island Army National Guard readied themselves for and performed a combat training jump from a C-130J Super Hercules flown by the 143d Airlift Wing, Rhode Island Air National Guard. The jump was part of the soldiers' Annual Training. When asked if they preferred to jump from a C-130J versus a rotary wing aircraft one of the soldiers replied, "C-130's definitely. It's more of a speed rush."

Joint training is essential in keeping the Rhode Island National Guard 'Always Ready and Always There' for our State and nation.
